Comments: At John D. Freeman Herbarium (AUA), Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama there are two herbarium specimens of Rosa virginiana P.Mill. collected in Floyd County, Georgia in 1800’s. Specimen AUA 433 was collected in 1898 by Eliza F. Andrews (1840-1931), a botanist and writer, and AUA 436 by Alvin W. Chapman (1809-1899), a famous southern botanist in 1872, or 1882, or in 1890'.
